Hello, I currently tranferred some.mp4 movies from my PC to My Cloud. My hope was that I could download the IOS App My Cloud on my Ipad and Iphone.
I am currently capable of streaming the movies on my apple devices. However, when I try to download the movies I receive an error when I am offline / airplane mode.
The error says, ‘File Unavailable: You cannot stream this file while offline’ This doesn’t make much sense since I downloaded the entire file which sent to the download folder. What am I doing wrong? You can play the movie from the download section, not from the streaming section where you downloaded it. I know this is the younger kids programming at WD. Also remember that downloaded stuff takes up memory so from time to time clear out the buffer as well as the downloaded moveis, mp3s and photos.

Thank you for your reply Raphael. I actually got that far and its when I click the movie in the Downloads section is when I receive the error that I cannot stream the movie.
The weird thing that happens in addition is that when my phone is not in airplane mode the same error occurs. Deleted the old movie and uploaded a different movie and it worked!! The only difference is the name extension of.mp4 (didn’t work) versus.m4p (worked). Not sure what the difference is but I am going to test it out a little bit more.

If the device really has been placed in “airplane mode” or in “offline mode” then it should be no surprise that you cannot view or download content from the WD My Cloud. Generally “airplane mode” disables both WiFi and Cellular Data access the device meaning you won’t be able to access the local network or internet to download or access the content stored on the WD My Cloud. Take the device out of “airplane mode” or “offline mode” and let it reconnect to the Cellular Data network and or WiFi and then you should be able to access the content on the WD My Cloud. Generally the WD My Cloud apps are not really for accessing content, other than uploading content to the WD My Cloud, on the local device, they are intended for acccessing, playing/viewing, content on the WD My Cloud.
